CHAI FUND
Last Simchat Torah a commander in the IDF, came home from Jenin for the holiday. Although he was thoroughly exhausted, he was alive and well with his family for Shabbat.
Unfortunately 500 soldiers, who also had leave, remained on the army base. They didn't go home to their families because their parents had no food for them
Imagine the feelings of these parents. Day in and day out they are worried about the safety of their sons or daughters hunting terrorist in Jenin and Ramallah, not knowing if they will live to see tomorrow. When they finally are permitted to go home for the weekend their parents have nothing to feed them.
We are SO fortunate here and must help. We are asking each and every person to donate $18.00 to the Chai Fund. Chai means life. Let's make a difference in someone's life.
This Chanukah, instead of giving gelt to your child on one of the eight nights, please consider donating $18.00 so an IDF soldier, who is defending OUR HOMELAND, can eat at home with his family. Tell your children they are doing their small part to help Israel at this crucial time. You can't imagine how much it will mean to these families and to yours.
The Chai Fund is an emergency project of the Coalition for Jewish Concerns AMCHA. Your donation is tax deductible and all proceeds go directly to the families of the soldiers
